My intense love for candy, cakes, and everything in between started as a child. I simply couldn't go one day without something sweet to eat. But my love for all things sweet took a toll on my teeth. My dentist diagnosed me with seven cavities, each one a different size and depth. After sitting through four long dental appointments, I decided to make a change. When you smile you want everyone to see how well you take care of your teeth. A nice white smile is one of the most attractive qualities in a man or a woman. Acidic Foods And Drinks

One of the best things that you can do is to is cut way back on all of the acidic food that get incorporated into a diet. Some of the drinks that you will likely want to cut out are orange juice, coffee, and carbonated beverages. Some of the foods that you will want to be careful with are any citrus fruits or candies. These foods and drinks are fine if consumed in moderation, or if you brush and floss your teeth after you consume them.

Tobacco 

One of the worst things that you can do for your teeth is to consume tobacco in any form. Smoking and chewing may be one of the worst things that you can do to your teeth. Something that most people know is that it can cause many different types of cancer in and around the mouth. Other than cancer tobacco can cause gum disease. If you have tried to quit smoking or chewing do not stop.

Dental Cleaning

One of the very best things that you can do is brush and floss at least twice a day. It is also very helpful to use a mouthwash. Something that many people forget about is having the dentist clean your teeth at least once a year. You will want to make sure that you have your dental checkup at least once a year, and that during that checkup you get your teeth cleaned professionally. The dentist will give you feedback on what you are doing correct, and what you can do to improve.
